Finest Materials
Learn about the ethical materials we
source to handcraft our fine jewelry
Fairtrade Gold
We’re proud to say that Nyrelle is a registered Fairtrade Goldsmith (Registration number: R1327).

The Fairtrade scheme transforms the lives of small-scale and artisanal gold miners by providing them with fair wages and safe working conditions. Every miner receives a guaranteed Fairtrade minimum price, as well as a Fairtrade premium payment for every kilogram of gold mined. Visit the Fairtrade website to learn more.
Recycled Gold
The majority of our jewelry is crafted in 100% recycled gold from reclaimed jewelry pieces. When you send jewelry back to us through our lifetime buy-back program we melt down your pieces and create new products from them, to be enjoyed again and again.
Conflict-Free Diamonds
We only work with diamonds that are certified conflict-free by the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme (KPCS). This government-led program allows us to verify that our stones are ethically-sourced.

Beyond being conflict-free, all of our diamonds are handpicked to meet or exceed industry standards. Our diamonds are D-G color and SI1+ clarity on the GIA Diamond Grading Chart, which means they’re colorless and eye-clean.
Traceable Gemstones
All of our gemstones are genuine mineral stones that were mined under safe, ethical conditions. Check out our individual product pages for details on each gem’s country of origin.

The garnets in our Moyo collection were mined by female artisanal miners in Tanzania. Each gem can be traced back to the exact woman who mined it. We invest 10% of our gemstone order value into the education, vocational training, and equipment of the miners.

18K Solid Gold
18-Karat solid gold is made of 18 parts of gold and 6 parts of alloys, making it very high in its purity. 18K is the closest you can get to pure gold without sacrificing durability and strength. With a rich yellow colour, stunning shine, and a heavier weight and feel, our 18K gold jewelry strikes the perfect balance between luxury and longevity.
9K Solid Gold
The pureness of gold is measured in karats (different from ‘carats’ with a ‘c’) in parts of 24. Gold is naturally very soft and fragile, so alloys are added to increase its durability and hardness. 9-Karat solid gold contains 9 parts of gold and 15 parts of alloys. Extremely durable and accessible, our 9-karat pieces are perfect for those looking for affordable jewelry to wear every day without worrying about scuffing and scratching.
Vermeil
Our vermeil (pronounced “ver-may”) jewelry is made of Fairtrade 925 sterling silver and plated with a thick layer of recycled gold. To be considered vermeil, this coating needs to have a thickness of at least 2.5 microns, and the gold used must be at least 10-karats in purity. We go the extra mile, and gild all our vermeil jewelry using 5 microns of 18-karat solid gold, a coating that is 100% thicker than the industry standard.
