From behind the scenes as a stylist and content creator at Nyrelle, to being in front of the camera as a model and Miss International Hong Kong 2021: Rosemary Ling does it all. Join us for a chat with Rosemary about confidence, content creation, her values and more.
What’s it like being Miss International Hong Kong?
I'm so honoured that I have the chance to represent Hong Kong in such a prestigious pageant. Not gonna lie, I'm a little bit nervous about it since this is my first time being in a beauty pageant, but I'm also really excited about the whole experience. I'm grateful that I get to meet other girls competing for Hong Kong and contestants from around the world. It's a once-in-a -lifetime experience for me, and I am thankful for it every day.
What's important to you when creating content for Nyrelle?
Diversity and inclusion. Nyrelle is all about making jewellery for everyone, so we look for people with different ethnicities, backgrounds and ages to represent our brand. I'm also excited to show everyone how fine jewellery doesn't have to be a massive purchase for big occasions when it's made affordable. And it's great to share with our followers how it's so easy to mix and match Nyrelle's jewellery with everyday outfits.
Another thing that's really important to me is sustainable living and promoting that lifestyle. I love hosting most of my shoots outdoors - when the weather lets me! - just so we can highlight the natural beauty of our planet.
What's the biggest lesson you've learnt from modelling?
I've learnt to be confident and believe in myself. There are so many other models out there, and fresh faces enter the industry every day - it's so easy to get into the mindset of constantly thinking someone has better qualities than you and to start comparing yourself to others.
It's important to appreciate yourself, to know that you are unique, and not let the world change how you see yourself.

How do you cultivate confidence within yourself?
By going out of my comfort zone, trying to explore more and doing new things. For me, confidence is built in how much I see, feel and experience. I always feel like I can understand myself more and grow the most when I'm facing new experiences and challenges. Forgetting about people's judgement and believing in what I own is how I keep myself confident.
Whenever I feel low, I love listening to podcasts about confidence and self-worth. It's a mental reminder for me and helps me to get back on track.
What's your favourite part about working at Nyrelle?
My supportive colleagues. I enjoy working with like-minded people in and outside of the company. We are all working together towards the same goal: promoting fine, ethical jewellery at affordable prices.
I also really enjoy going on shoots with our models and influencers; it's so rewarding to see the final photos after styling them and organising everything.
What is your morning routine like?
I wake up, make myself a cup of coffee, do yoga, work out and then start my day!
I'll also tell you what I don't do: check my phone.
I've been trying to stay away from my phone and social media as much as possible during my morning routine. Doing this gives me a clearer mind and allows me to focus on myself before being flooded with information from my phone.
What is your favourite kind of content to create?
I love creating short-form videos like Instagram reels and TikToks. They are so much fun to make, and they're such a great way to get a lot of information across in a short amount of time! I enjoy the whole process: from the planning to the execution and the reactions that we get. It's all very interesting to me.
Moving forward, what's your vision for Nyrelle?
I want Nyrelle to become a brand that people worldwide will look to and say, "wow, they are really revolutionising the industry". I hope that with the content I create, I can make a difference in the world of jewellery by promoting the importance of sustainability, diversity and inclusion.
I also want Nyrelle to be a place where people come for more than just the jewellery: I want to share positive, uplifting content with our followers. I want us to be a place for our community to learn, grow and get new insights!
